Hi, I'm Tate...

Since I began studying Photography at UWE, I have leant towards genres of still life and fashion, working experimentally in terms of cameras, printing and alternative processes.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy capturing my surrounding environment, shooting street style photography, especially when travelling or visiting a new city. Moreover, I like to reappropriate my images through collage and mixed media to create another dimension to my work. In terms of final outcomes, I enjoy my work in photo-book form as well as darkroom printing.

I’m currently undergoing a project around female identity and ritual informed by the history, culture, and mythologies surrounding hair; and its potential for sustainability in fashion. I hope to portray these themes by experimenting with printing processes and incorporation of fashion textiles.
